Troy began his playing days in Northern Virginia at age 5. Upon moving to Georgia in 1998, Troy joined the Wills Park Hammerheads travel team for 2 years. The next 5 years for spend playing for East Cobb, winning the Perfect Game Junior World Series in 2003.
While attending Milton High School, Troy was a 4 year letter-man. He was chosen as The Georgia Dugout Club Player of the Week as a freshman, hitting 6 home runs in one week. He was also selected to the All County-All Star Team 3 consecutive years. In the 2004 state playoffs, Troy contributed to the Eagles winning the State Championship title with 5 complete game wins. He finished his high school career with a record of 24 wins, 5 losses, 6 saves, with 251 strikeouts, and a 2.19 ERA. Troy was one of Prospect Plus Baseball America’s Top 10 Round Draft Potential Picks From Georgia. In 2005, Troy was the #2 ranked pitcher in the state of Georgia and #17 ranked nationally.
After graduation, Troy continued playing at the collegiate level with the Auburn Tigers. However, his career was cut short due to a shoulder injury in 2006.
Today, Troy is passing his knowledge on as a pitching instructor.
